It's a nice feature to be able to ride and fight on horses, but it also is a little annoying, when you have to dismount/mount every time you want to explore interactive things, and the horse is often blocking the possibility to select NPC's in town's.
I also think that horse riding should have been much more quicker way to travel than running, but it isn't, but maybe it's because my character lacks of riding skills, or my current horse is not agile enough?
The horse is good for knocking enemies over in fights, when you enable the special horse attack moves and ride straight through a horde of enemies. _________________ Moderator on RPGdot.com Forum.

I noticed that too, that in the demo your horse travels pretty much the same speed as your avatar can on foot. Then again, the horse was labeled as " an old nag" ! I don't know if the horse "level" dictates speed as well as attack ability.
Just one question ....using the demo does anyone else find it laggy when having the game zoomed fully out ? |

You can buy better horses which have different skills. There is even a skill your avatar must get to be able to mount the better horses.
About horse speed I think they should move faster than walking on foot or it wouldnt make any sense using them
The demo only showed 1 horse and there will many more in the final game ! |

The demo actually has 2 horses. The better horse requires a skillpoint tho...
Had to try this out!
Ive restarted the demo with a seraphim and put a skill point into the horse skill and bought the horse.
There is a major speed difference!!
High horse skill should be essential for ranger/ mage wannabes |

There are three horses, actually. I got a point in riding and I cruised around very quickly. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Perhaps items can increase their speed as well?
Anyways, we wouldn't be able to tell what we were doing if it went too much faster than it already is...

Agreed. I find the movement in-game almost too fast. I wouldn't mind if the avatar speed on foot was reduced. Might help improve the scrolling a bit. |

We already have seen at least one timelimited quest in the demo (No crucial timelimit though), but we maybe could expect more in the full game, that actually needed high skills in riding along with a "Shadowfaxe" horse to be able to solve the quest in time?! Or maybe the teleporting system will be more effictive, when it comes to travelling over greater distances? _________________ Moderator on RPGdot.com Forum.

The combat speed is not an issue. The combat has to be fast and furious in order to be fun and challenging. I think most of the players will learn to cope with the speed the more they play the game. |
