Colonel is for sure a new word probably came somewhere a little bit earlyer than WW I , Oberst is probably a very old one , more into medieval . But i thought here a little bit why not name it Higher Orc or Highest Orc it surely sounds stupid but heej in medieval times many things were stupid |

I just wanted to thank cothyso and the team for the English translation mod. I ‘m just starting chapter 4 and I can’t believe what an improvement NotR is for Gothic 2.
Also I would like to thank Xerxes712 for the info on where to buy Gothic 2 Gold edition
http://www.rollenspiel-shop.de
I hope some day we will see the English version for NotR released |

The latest version is 1.0b5?
How can I directly start playing the game with translation mod? I mean without the GothicStarter.exe window. |

Always check the README file for version numbers.

Actually, a simple way is to use the following command line:
GothicStarter -game:G2aTT-G2TNoTR -start
This will start the frontend and the game (with the mod loaded) altogether. Not exactly what you requested, but may be good enough.
If you really want the GothicStarter not to show up, another way is to directly replace the language files in the VDF archives; however, becuase the VDF files are large, making backups before the replacement can be a bit cumbersome.

I live in the US and I'm thinking of ordering NOTR from Germany. I have both the UK and US versions of Gothic 2. Can I just order NOTR by itself or do I have to get the gold version for the translation mod to work? |

AFAIK, NotR should work for the English G2. Just make sure you have the original game patched to v1.30 before installing the addon.
Refer to the installation section of the README file for detailed instructions.
On the side note, if you are referring to the English NotR (i.e. the one we are waiting for), then my answer to your former question is "no" because it seems that the official addon will be out only in gold-version form.

Has anyone played through the whole game using English Gothic 2 and German NOTR with translation mod? Are there any major bugs I should know about? I'm not going to wait for an English gold version because it may never come, and I HAVE to play NOTR! |

Since I have both the UK, and the US versions, do you think one might be better than the other to use the mod with? UK = ver. 1.31, US= ver. 1.32
or it shouldn't matter?
Another question- Any way to just play the entire game with English Subtitles?
Even though I would rather have English speech, it's going to be strange hearing a mixture of both. |

cothyso, I almost forgot.... I think what you and your team did was really great! It's fantastic that you guys took the time to make such a thing.
Thank you! I can't wait to use it. :)
P.S. - I will still support PB and purchase the English version if one is released.
I just don't think it's going to happen at this point. To much time has passed. |

It shouldn't matter for the mod.

it's much more the team than I by myself, but regardless of that, we do thank you!
just enjoy it, as we couldn't really do because of the long and hard work on it... but maybe after enough rest time and break from it, we'll enjoy it too |
