What all does the Throne of Bhaal add on do exactly?

Does ToB add new features or anything at all? if so please let me know all that it adds
also does this is this add-on basically Baldurs Gate 3?? where it starts right when Baldurs Gate 2 ends , will it be obvious how to enter ToB? or is it like Swords of the Coast add on??

thanks!

It adds a new mage class, several magic items, a new dungeon, and (once you beat Shadows) about another 30 hours of adventures and epic level battles in an awesome conclusion to the Child of Bhaal story.

It will be quite obvious, as when you complete Shadows of Amn you instantly start the next 'chapter'... which is Throne of Bhaal.

But you have to finish SOA and defeat Irenecos first right?

No, you can start a new game right at the start of Throne of Bhaal. Although you won't have all the really cool stuff you had at the end of SoA.

I see, just like DII, you get to keep all your really cool stuff.

Now, if only I could find that bow string?!?

You mean Gesen's bow string? I think that's in the Asylum dungeon on the level where you..., well I don't want to spoil it now do I.

If you skip Shadows of Amn, you'll miss out on a bunch of cool things... not just items, but battles, NPCs, quests, dialogues, cut-scenes...

Just walk through them in order. They're not hard... but they're good.

Hello Val

Say what? You were about to tell me where my Archer Ranger can find the bow string?

(that's OK, the asylum is over my head, yet)

I was going to give away a part of the story and I don't want to spoil it for you. It's in the Asylum dungeon.

Well, I found them really, really easy... with the exception of the Mind Flayers and Beholders (Beholders are no problem if you have the Shield of Balduran, but without it...).

Mind you, I have been playing D&D for 15 years.

It was funny, really... Baldur's Gate reminded me of why I stopped playing D&D on the computer (Endless wandering, boring characters). Baldur's Gate II (which I bought skeptically) reminded me of why I loved D&D.

I am so glad to hear you say that. I bought the BG Original Saga, so I could play with a char all the way through, but I already had SOA and ToB. I thought I was spoiled, but now I'm just going to on playing BG II and forget BG. Period.

The best thing that Baldur's Gate did was make enough money to show that people still wanted D&D computer games and make enough money for them to make a superior sequel.
