I did it once, for fun. I had just started the game and was fooling around in the water. Those jellyfish were closing in and started kicking my butt. I took the coward's death...

Their is a place, dont want to spoil this but u basically drown yourself, with no ability to find air. Will happen to the curios and the stupid, which I put myself at.

I know where you're talking about. Red valves?
Anyway, I did the same thing. There IS a button though. You can hit it to drain the area before you drown.
I have no idea if the reason for this flood shows up later or not. Freaked me out the first time.

There was a button? I was pounding on the door to frantic to notice some dumb button. These little things in this game really make the game

Yeah, the button is hard to find if you're in a panic. It's in the room just before the valves, down low. Glows sort of green underwater.

I did this room also, if you click a valve then turn it off and do it again for the other three as well, the water will drain out below the grate and you can see a passage below the grate.
I never could find a way to it though.
