combat formulas
   

Is there anyone who knows by what formula is computed succesiful mele, ranged or magic attack in gothic 2 ???

That just depends on your own choice, but I would say that ranged attack is a bit behind the rest, maybe something they have to change in G3, but not for me I am a melee guy

Seems that I didn't formulate my question well. I would like to know how the damage is computed when you hit someone. There must be some formula like:
damage=Strenght+one_handed_skill-armor_class
or somehing like that...
Now, I am asking is anyone know theese formulas for various type of weapons(ranged,one and two handed) and for magick attack?

melee damage= weapon damage+strength-your enemys resistance to melee

ranged damage= weapon damage+dexterity-your enemys resistance to ranged

the one-handed skill and stuff like that is the chance of doing double damage(critical hits) and also affects your fighting style

And I assume that magic damage=spell damage-magic resistance, right?
And spell always hits, never misses enemy, and have no critical?

yep you got it all right, except that sometimes some spells do miss

only when the opponent is running, far away, or beneath you.
