I have having pauses when I call up the Map. Sometimes 5 seconds, sometimes 10-15 seconds. The map will not appear until after the pause. Anyone else having this problem?

Sounds normal to me. Maybe someone else can tell us if the map is faster on a more powerful pc.

I did notice that the map loads much faster on small dungeon levels (like the mines) than it does outdoors...so unless it's a bug/loop with the map function, for good or bad I suspect the engine is programmed to perform a bunch stuff in the background before displaying the map.

If PB takes the time to fix this one, I also hope they add in an on-screen compass to let you know if your going n-s-e-w.

Takes about the same on my Computer, same being around 5 seconds, but it loads lots faster in the mines. Maybe that because it doesn't have to calculate where you are and show it.

I noticed the map delay too. It's annoying when monsters are chasing you

I have a 1.7GHZ Pentium 4, 640MB memory, with a 64MB Prophet III card and it still does it to me.

It's just a bug.

But if someone wants to gather some RAM together to test this, then feel free to.

1.8 GHZ, 512MB, GeForce 3 - Sometimes takes half a second, sometimes takes 15 seconds ... just a bug I think.
