I'm at the part where I am to rescue the mages from the cave. I have recruited 3 of the 4 but the fourth mage (the one who brews the potions) is not allowing me to talk to him.
He recounted some history and said something about "needing to concentrate". I've searched the whole cave and I cannot find anything that seems to help.
I don't usually use cheats/walkthroughs unless I'm really stuck, but this is one of those times. You don't have to tell me directly: just tell me if the mage wants something from outside the cave (most likely a book) or if there is a secret room I've missed (I haven't found any).
Thanks. |

Rescue the mages from the cave? A bit more precision would be nice. Most people here played Gothic back in 2002.
In which chapter are you, where are you and what are you doing?
btw., Iīll move this to the correct forum. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

@Ocre
SPOILER!!!
this gives a pretty direct explanation
there are a couple bookshelves and book stands in the cave right in the main section. the bookshelves are the key. search them even though nothing is highlightable you should be able to collect a book from the shelves. (similar to how you got the underwater plants, but you have to click in this case).
that book should help you out.
hope that helps.

Sorry Gorath: I'm playing the Diccuric mod at present. I'll admit that I'm not very forum savvy, so please accept my apologies.
Thanks Rordog. I hope it works. I DID explore the bookshelf and I got that message you spoke of (similar to when finding the water plant for Alwin), but that didn't do anything. However, now that I think of it, I didn't actually check my inventory to see if a book appeared there. I'll check. Thanks for the tip. There are some things in Diccuric that operate a little differently from Gothic I and II.
Thanks again... |

No problem, oche.
I wonder who pasted this to the Diccuric thread. When I saw it it was a new thread in one of the other forums. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

That's what I asked myself, too.
I never found a way to merge threads, at least not with this forum software. Splitting is an option, but it's an irreversible process. When pasting, the original authors are lost, so I don't understand how this effect here came about. _________________ Jaz |

The mysterie of the guardians perhaps. (Looks to Jaz. Btw I think Myrthos can do such a thing, he has always been a bit mysterious, or perhaps even good old Ren)
Anyway, thanks for the greate mod. I don't mind the few German words, so I have problems notifying you. I just want to play and my mind goes further on. _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows

There is only so much you can learn about phpBB, and one of the first thing to poke you right in the eye is - there is no merge thingy. I guess one could pick through the database manually, but I doubt anybody would be doing that...
Ops, sorry. |

kewl! now, when english version of Diccuris is almost(or already?) done, I could gather some team and translate it to Polish. Poland have maaaaany hardcore gothic players, and they would love to play in gothic 1 pro-mod such as diccuric.
we shall see. _________________ :: eksperymentalnie :: ___exp1[done]_exp2[done]_exp3[alpha_2] |

I am playing english Dicurric-beta2.zip.
I can't get the foreman (Zubov?) to talk. After talking to Graveyarn (I have never met Taliasan) and picking up the note at the smithy, I go the bar and only get 'der Arbeiter' to say that he is thirsty, Zubov says nothing.
I dont think all of Graveyarn's dialog is translated, he tells about Zubov but I did not see that in the written text.
from gothich starter:
title: Diccuric Teil 1 Patch2
version: 1.1d
title: Diccuric Part 1 English Beta2
version: 1.1c/English Beta2
I don't have the file dic_patch2_1.mod, if I need that, how do I get it?

Zubov is not the foreman, u have to go right from the tavern and behind Homer u ll find foreman in his hut. (his name is just foreman).
But i ve got some questions myself:
1. All lp i got i invested in strenght, so i got it up to 80, then i found sword named The butcher that requires 32 str. When i equiped it my str changed to 32. Anyone got answer to that?
2. I cant find raffa (taliasan's quest)
3. The same with the guy who mugged Pyt (cant remember the name)
4. Tongue of fire (either find it or learn to remove it, as i found fire varans but cant take the tongue from them)
5. Except from Fisk none of the merchants will trade with me. Homer said they will if i get the right stuff, but i have no idea what
6. Cave where u can dig out the rocks and find a passage through; the passage is protected by a focefield. How do i get through there
That's all i can think for now. I hope someone can answer at least some question
EDIT: Forget about 2 and 3, as i found it in previous posts _________________ No sig for now

Thanks for the answer about the foreman.
I have continued with the Taliasan quests. I have not solved them yet but so for this mod is great! Looks good, immersive quests and fun (eg. Narrows quest is well designed.)
As for translation:
The farm quest is not translated in the mission list.
The random dialog between Zubov and der Arbeiter is in english with german text! (Not the quest dialog, if there is one, which I haven't seen yet.)
