Just a little sneak preview to see if anybody has any constructive criticism.

From my reference page I came up with: a goblin. It was modeled completely in Wings3D.

Eventually, I'm hoping to use this model as a starting point to clone and modify a whole bunch of them. Craft a small village for them and create a whole bunch of images with a "day in a goblin village" theme.

You really should give Wings a try. Quite a good newbie tutorial, in the manual, to get you started. A wicked set of tutorials for more advanced topics. An awsome community supporting it.

And the best part... it's SO simple to use.

Downloaded it now... That's the BEST 3D editing software I ever saw! It's sooooo simple! Not the dumb complexity of gMax! I LOVE it! The only problem is texturing. Can't find out how's it done .

Here's an example of a textured model. I just textured that quick and dirty to see what it would look like.

To actually texture something... select the body you wish to texture. RMB and select UV mapping. I can't really teach you here how to obtain a good image out of your object, but play around and you'll figure it out eventually. Once it's done, open an Outliner window (under Window menu). Find the diffuse map image there. By right clicking on it, you can export it. This will export your texture map. You can also "make external" and then once you edit it on disk, you can "reload" it. For now, I would suggest you just export it. Edit it in some image app. Then under File menu, Import Image... Once you got it back into the outliner window, drag the newly imported image onto the material representing your UV mapping (it should be called cube_auv or some such thing). This may be confusing at first, but once you figure out what is it I'm telling you to do, it'll be very simple.

I've been retexturing stuff for morrowind for a while, so it's not a problem to find a good image. The problem is(was) that I couldn't find a way to import any image. Thanx!

By request, I made a quick and dirty render of the above model, in Bryce, with some procedural textures on it.

One step closer to my goal. Here's a waterfall created and rendered in Bryce.

As we're talking about bryce, can you export hightmaps of the terrain in Bryce?

Another little sneak preview. A posed goblin.

@Nobody
Sorry, I missed your question before. I'm not really sure if you can export them (my version is having issues).

Nice model. But aren't the ears too in a bit wrong rotation? Anyway, that's bad that you can't export them. I don't like bryce, but I needed some terrain editor to export heightmaps...
