Yeah!! what a game! Go Korea go!! I believe they could even win the WC! That would be so great to witness a new era of football, the rising of new nations. It would mean more excitement in international competition.

Sorry Yog, but dont worry. Italiz win the prize of best acting school of shirts pulling and diving
Italy got lucky on the penalty. I would have given a double-penalty. 2 korean players pushed simultaneously and the italians kept arguing.

And this show (once again) that a game is over when the referee say it's over. As long as there are some seconds to be played a goal can be scored (Eire against Germany, today for Korea, and 2 years ago in the final of Euro 2000 with France scoring against Italy)

Too bad for Japan tho, they didnt make it today

I'm a member of the NonFlamers' guild... i have to breath deeply and relax... relax... relax... no sorry i can't...

ROUND OF 16
Forth day match

Italy 1 - South Korea 1
Vieri '22 - Seol '88

(after the regolar times there was the OverTime)
AHN '117

In Yellow the team that passes the turn
In Green the team that goes home

Comment: StarFox, are you sure you watch the same match? I saw a perfect game of the Korea which was playinf in 12 (guess who is the 12th... let me tell a hint, he's from Ecuador...) Simply incredible! I'm not arguing the penalty (he was right) NOR the second yellow of Totti (diving is an art for him!) but for all the others little things called faults... strange but true, there wasn't ANY replays of ALL the contrasts made by the Korean player... even when Coco broke his eyebrow, the replay started at the end of the Korean-attack... Tommasi scored another (the fifht!!!!!) regolar goal! (and when it's too much it's too much!) that could be the g.g. for Italy...
Well i'll not be here talking of this more... we lost and the Korea goes on, congratulation to the Korean players... i'll put this team always winner from now on

@Yog - You don't *write* like you broke anything! So I'd say you are taking this very, VERY well!!

Hmmm, Cameroon is gone, Sweden is gone, and Italy is gone. NOW who the heck do I cheer for? I know! Germany! (I picked them as my super bet ).

If all the referee will leave playing such today South Korea will win... (no i'm not angry... who said it?) btw: i've not said the the fault on Zambrotta (hitting the knee from behind and making him leave the ground) was a red-xxx-rated one...
OK, i'll stop talking, sorry...

Crap. Now my Super Bet is out.

Well, Yog I said it before and I’ll say it again; Italy should have worked harder for a second goal instead of concentrating on defending their 1-0 lead. It’s just not working anymore like it did in the early 90’s.

Another thing: Italy have been VERY unlucky (even cheated?) by poor refereeing. It’s a shame that FIFA has such a stupid rule that won’t allow more than one referee from each country. It’s the biggest football tournament and we have referees from the likes of Guatemala (Do they even have a professional league?).

I dont think the referee was pro-korean and no one on french TV thought so. They all said he did a great game. The italian guy who got injured on his eyebrow wasnt injured by a korean but an italian. It was clearly shown on another camera angle.

For the discarded italian goal. That was a very tough call but decision has to be taken live and immediately.

I think Vieri was very unlucky. I could feel he wouldnt score but he kept missing big opportunity (like trezeguet during this WC). it was simply a day out for him.

Like stealth I agree that italy could have won iif they had attacked more. Just before the end of the regular time they missed a huge opportunity when that italian player (I forget his name) just "had" to push the ball inside but the ball skyrocketed instead.

On the other hand, the korean penalty wasnt so greatly shot. Had they scored it might have been even tougher for Italy, being led 1-0 2 minuted after the beginning of the game.

My above statements about the referees were not solely based on the Korea game but on the tournament as a whole. Just wanted to clear that up (if anyone was confused ? )

Agree! Never said the contrary! But it's difficoult to play againd 12 players...

yes they have, and next WC they will be the strongest national team in the Universe! (Sorry for anyone from Guatemala...)

and now another quotated person:

Here he created a hell! Hope he has not the program to take a vacation here...

Yes i know, i never said it was a Korean, it was injured by Gattuso... that doesn't change the fact that the replay was a *little* bit late... just when the attack of Korean players ended...

And it was taken WRONG for the FIFTH time in FOUR matches... if you think it's normal i believe you...

Trezeguet started smiling the last time when hit the cross-bar... the ball seemed hounted, it simply didn't want to enter... i was relly sorry in that moment.

If it was one incident, you could say that it was poor luck but how many times unfair refereeing were cited in the tournments with Italy? It was almost like the referees were out to get them.

Who is doing PR for the Italian National Football team? Have the Italians considered sending fruit baskets to the International Football referees' Association (I made that up )?

Beo you don't know what's happening here... Probably Carraro (the head of our soccer organization) will resign, Trapattoni (obvious! it's not all fault of the referees) will resign too... and Collina (the best world referee, Italian and now in Korea/Japan) will be forced to come home for a protest...
Here we are going to have a soccer revolution! hehe i really want to know what will happen!
