You did a dual install?

sounds like you are throwing down the gauntlet. i hope you don't mind if i don't pick it right up.

Hey, I'm not deliberately trying to be argumentative or anything - far from it. Just thought I'd use a bit of color to point out the logical fact that there is no universally wicked character type.

I *wish* mine did. Since I couldn't dual-install HotU, I'm a bit SOL until they release the next patch. I've already gotten a bit bored by the official campaign (mainly because my computer is choking on the Underdark visual effects making most battles a PITA) and I can't play online or many of the solo mods due to game engine changes (scripts stop working etc.).

Some of these Underdark battle scenes remind me of when I played the final battle scene of BG1 on my Pentum Pro 150 with a 4MB video card. Game slowed down so much I couldn't accurately click on anything with a mouse... nice memories. NOT!

i think multiclassing is one of the features that make this game great. i've never replayed and finished a game so many times. being one class is great, but when u finish the game, it's nice to experiment, for example, i've created a 6ranger/8arcane archer/1sorcerer and he's doing quite well in HOtU. and yes, it's better if you take a character through SoU first before going to HOtU, cause doesn't it feel cheap to just start leveling up your character without working for it? Plus you also feel the effects of the differents feats if you gain them gradually. i'm currently creating another character a monk/red dragon disciple combo. then there's the wizard/palemaster combo. so many.

The most normal multi-classing is 16 lvls of barbarian and 4 lvls of fighter. Anhoter combo, which is one of the best was monk/fighter/rouge.

a decent combo i have come upon is a Monk/Wizard or Monk/Sorceror...you will get spell casting and an AC Bonus due to the monk feats plus a decent amount of health...so it pumps up the wizards melee a little bit for when they get caught off guard or run out of spells to use on an opponenet...
