There are browsers who provide you with "block pictures" functionality. I doubt Arhu will make a non-graphical skin. Simply because it's not only about skins. It would be much more work to say "don't load picture at all" than "load this picture instead of this one".

P.S.:
@CassRo
I'm the one who changed from 10MB to dial-up (it was too expensive :]).

Uuuu...that must have been a hard decision. The thing in my country is that you get 1MB/sec AND telephone included at 9$/month, which is cheaper than the normal one (dial-up + telephone). The bad thing is that because they use fiber optic they don't have too much $$$ and it may take 2 years until they arrive in my neighbourhood (yes, in only one town )

1MB costs around $70/month here. It's really expensive. But there are other possibilities: slower ASDL (around $20/month for 256 Kb/s), wireless connection (around $20 for 256 Kb/s) and several more.

Hi folks,

Yes, if I were to do a skin with minimal use of pictures I'd imagine it would load very fast. Not only because of the absence of images, but also because I'd do the html code from scratch, basically, with less tables and so on. In other words, a lot less overhead.

But.. uh, it has to look at least a little good, and when I tried to design something once, I didn't like it after some hours work and gave up. :/ Sorry.. maybe some day.

Mm, and now I see that I still have to fix some glitches due to a recent design change. Plus the winter theme needs to go. Don't worry, no pink this time.

Ariel

Nobody is rushing you, you can do it whenever you like (1 week, 1 month, 1 year, 1 year and 1 day )

Just wondering will we get the spring background soon in the divinity skin?

Good question, although at this point I'd probably jump right into summer.

Lol.. I understand the main goal of this topic can be achieved by blocking the images through the browser you're using, as someone has already mentioned.

@Ariel: Have your time, I wouldn't care if it took you months, better said, eternity.

Yeah, sorry folks. I had some problems connecting to the server for quite a while (haha) until I finally figured out that my client was in desperate need of an add-on.
Well, there you go. Summer time! The trees were supposed to mark the beginning of spring and I intended to make a real summer background eventually, but... anyway, enjoy.

Fixed some layout issues too, while I was at it.
