Problems in PS:T

1. Is it possible to steal from Vrischika? I want that Hammer of Comminution, but I'm not going to pickpocket every NPC in the game to get 14000 CP. I read somewhere that you can do it if you have 110% pickpocket, but I tried like 20 times with 127%. No dice.

Exactly how does the percent affect the success? I thought it was a probability, but it goes over 100% and you can fail.

2. I accidently killed Lenny in the Upper Ward. I could've sworn that I didn't save with him dead, but there he isn't. Is there any way I can free Trist with him dead?

Also, how is THAC0 pronounced? I've been saying thacko, even though it's a zero.

1: 127% is your BASE chance of success. it's modified based on facing (not applicable when robbing from a store in Torment), armor worn (not applicable to Nameless), and level of target.

2: Lenny! Oh God! LENNNNNYYYYYY!!!!! Heh... in all honesty, I can't remember that quest. Sorry. Been about 3 years...

It's commonly pronounced thacko, but some purists pronounce it thack-zero.

But if the chance of success is 127%. shouldn't it be impossible to fail? And I don't think where I'm looking gives the base chance, because it does change when I change armor and charms and whatnot.

It's the quest where a girl named Trist is going to be sold into slavery and you need to find documents to get her freed.

Well you messed that one up. You should have just bullied the guy and told him you were helping Trist. Then you'd be friends and he'd help you free her and even get you some incriminating evidence on Pikit (not sure if the name is right).

But it's not taking the other guys level into account probably. If he's 10 levels higher than you... forget it.

Also, some guys really just can't be pickpocketed.

Yeah, I know. I killed him to see what he had, then reloaded because he's a named NPC. I guess I must have saved by accident. Maybe I can hexedit my savegame or something.

I don't see how the other person's level would matter as long as it's non-zero and positive. If you can't steal from here, why is there a steal option? For all the other people from whom you can't steal, you can't even try.

BTW, for anyone who didn't know, 127% is the limit.

The other persons level represents their experience in life. A level 15 hard core life long adventurer is going to be more wary at all times than a level 1 spoiled noble's son out for his first Kobold whacking thrill-kill.
