Obsidian Signs on 2nd Project

A low-key post on the Obsidian Entertainment forums announces they have signed a deal and their second project is now in full pre-production:
Obsidian Entertainment has signed with an as yet to be named publisher for it's second project and is now in full pre-production! More details coming soon!
Good stuff!

That's the $64,000 question: is it or isn't it?

There was a thread about this on Gone Gold. It was stated that the new Obsidian game is neither BG3 or NWN2, but it's not an original IP and that it's quite ironic what they are working on.

Is it worth reading? If so could you provide a link?

I assume he means this thread:

http://www.gonegold.com/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=14;t=003352

It's about who's doing BG3 & NWN2, not just about what Obsidian is doing next. But of course Obsidian is tossed around as one of the possibilities.

One guy seems sure they are not doing BG3 or NWN2 but something entirely different. He also says that what they (Obsidian) are working on is not an original IP and "It's quite ironic what game it is, actually." Of course as far as I know he's just some random goomba on a forum who doesn't know a damn thing but likes to pretend he does. So who knows really?

It would be nice if they were doing BG3 though. Or if they'd already been contracted out by Bethesda to do FO3...but since B is doing FO3 themselves I guess that's not even a dream.

I can only see it being ironic if its a former interplay IP, that could only be Icewind Dale or Planescape Torment. My money would be on Planescape considering MCA is with Obsidian, but more than likely its just some gimp on a forum who doesnt know nothing.
