i've gotta say that i'm quite upset with this mod,i dont know where the problem lies,but to me it seems to be extremely buggy, i cant find trainers anywhere,i go to people that common soldiers recommend, alwin and the weird named guy infront of the arena, but nothing,neither of them will train me, then there is the case with some guy who looks like cor angar from G1,first time i talked to him he offered to teach me strength and dexterity,and the second time i spoke to him,the only option there was left was for 2-handed level 1, no more strength and dexterity anywhere,and even for the 2-hander he told me i am not ready to learn it, even though i had 50 learning points,and only 30 are required, what gives here? is it just me or is this mod filled to the brink with bugs? |

First, you should change your tone. The mod was written by people who wanted to offer more fun to the rest of the players, no one ordered them to do it. They did it out of their personal time and made it work. None of them was specifically taught for this, and bug happen even in official releases. I bet that you couldn't even make a mod with a single room and 1 working door in it. So just drop that attitude..
Second, I don't recall seeing similar issues being reported by others, so it means that you have done something incorrectly, or haven't completed something else. And if it is a bug, contact the writers of the mod in civilised, polite way. Read the documents which came with the mod and look for correct contact data as well, as it is possible that the developers of that mod gather the bug data somewhere else, as these forums are mainly used to discuss the official Gothic 1. _________________ Been there, done that . . . |

@Gorath:
yes i have, the lastest patch there is
@Whailor:
first of all, i think i'll need to tell you the same thing right back, you are the one who should change your attitude, i was asking some decent and understanding people if they know what gives here,and possibly to get an answer to what is wrong, all i said was that i am upset over it, said that its filled with bugs from my experience, and asked if anyone knows what gives, in no way did i insult anyone from the gothic modteam or their work, explaining my experience and telling the truth from it is not an insult, except if you interpret it that way,but then i would need to interpret you as a half-literate person who does not understand what my post was about,i didnt ask for your misinterpreted lectures on my attitude, i asked what is up with these issues, so if you cant answer my question,or dont understand my post,you'd best just stay quiet, as neither you,nor anyone else has the right to snap at me for my personal opinion which never was meant as an insult,if you have problems with your temper, take them out somewhere else,not on me or other people here,thank you |

Hey ther Garanixx,
I also struggled a bit with diccuric, i got as far as the escort Lynn quest the gave up, can be quite tough.
There is a pdf (acrobat) file with the full info's called
"dicloes_neu.pdf (Komplettlösung)" as usual it's all in german, maybe it could be interpreted by some method ? - - worth a try.
The file is downloadable from the worldofgothic site.
Good luck. |

You didn't ask anything in "decent way", you posted a topic telling "what a mess, brink full of bugs, I am so sick and upset over it!". Hardly anything similar to asking in a good way, or posting your opinion in polite way. If you think that you can snap at developers like this, then anyone can snap at your "opinion" as well. Not to mention that there's a difference between 'opinion' and 'rant'.
Here, let me give you a hint how it is a polite way to ask for help: "Hi, I am playing Diccuric mod, but I have some problems with it and was wondering if anyone could help? I can't find the trainers to train my strength, my char seems to have all prerequisites to be able to do it, but trainers don't give the option to train. When I try to train 2H weapons skill, I see that the requirement is 30 skill points. I have 50 available but trainer tells that my char is not ready yet. Can anyone tell what might be wrong, or is there a fix available? Thank you". The way you put your "opinion", or rather, a rant, I wouldn't reply with the solution even if I knew the answer, until one would learn to ask things in normal tone. _________________ Been there, done that . . . |

Honestly Whailor, I don't see anything wrong with Garanixx's request.
He stated his problems and general opinion of the mod. At no time did he bad mouth the developers or make comments like "they should keep their day jobs, etc.".
Its kind of a difficult thing with fan-made mods. Everyone knows the developers of mods put in lots of hours as a labor of love. But again, working hard on something is not a guarantee of its overall quality. As such, no-one should be discouraged from giving their honest opinion about a mod as long as it is done in a tactful, respectful way. I don't think Garanixx crossed the line here. _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

@Elkston:
thank you for your words of understanding
@Whailor:
that rant is still nothing more but stating an opinion, merely in a more emotional way, thus still nothing wrong with that as long as one does not insult people in the process, and another thing, stop making things up, i didnt call it a mess, neither did i say i'm sick of it, if i were,i would give up and would not even be asking anyone here about it, and since you are the only one here who is complaining about my attitude, i would have to say that i am right in this situation, i did not overstep any boundries,i did not snap at the developers,i did not say anything insulting, you are making all those things up,including things i didnt even say,so i'd suggest you either stop lying in case you are,or train a bit on your reading comprehension before you go accusing people of being offensive, there was nothing insulting about my post,and i dont need some wiseguy teaching me how to address my questions,because you are the one who is being offensive and snapping at me right now |

Hey Garanixx
I haven't played the mod for awhile now but do you need to train one-handed first. as for the cor-angaar look alike if he is upstairs he trains one thing, if he is downstairs at the smith he'll train another.
Hope that helps abit.
later, rordog _________________ Winning isn't everything it is the only thing! |

How can you call Whailor a liar? You started your post by saying that you were upset by this mod. How can you be upset? If the mod doesn't work for you, leave it alone and make one of your own to complain about. You are very abrasive and you aren't meeting this forums ( and patrons of this website ) level of friendliness. |

ok first of don't panic yes diccuric is a bit buggy and has a tendency to crash but the world is amazing to me at least, seems more alive and it looks like every tree has been given a personal touch second as for your questions yes it's hard to find trainers but I did it so no worries hey.
Spoiler:
just as you enter teh city go right and into the tower there's a merc blacksmith there named asergard I think he can train you in strengh, as for 1h and bow, a hunter named narrow near the first trees just outside the wall will train you after you do some quest for him go for it and good luck
ohh and yes whailoer is right there's a way to phrase questions and I don't pratically care for your flaming each other either _________________ "We're still flying"
