Repost from Elderscrolls forum:
Astasenko you are a genius! folks- this program is the real deal - it works, and extremely well.
However.....there is a problem i am experiencing, Astasenko I hope you are reading this. The problem is that when i increase the max. view distance, any npc with real-time shadows will seem to 'sink' into the ground. That is, their legs, and sometimes their whole bodies, disappear! - Its especially the case when looking down from a high viewpoint. I have to disable shadows to stop this from happening. I hope you can fix this!
Also - the 'minimise' button doesn't seem to work, Max works okay.
Still - wonderful work! you are a champion!
Just a personal view - setting a very high max viewing distance sometimes doesn't look that good - Morrowind's terrain renderer is reminiscent of 'Magic Carpet' in that its rather basic in appearance, and this is highlighted with a high view distance. Nonetheless, some terrific vistas can now be opened up! |

Same prob here. Sometimes NPC's even get big like giants
About IP checking: on the forums, this is only possible for moderators. _________________ Rendelius

Have you mirrored it yet, Ren? This tool needs public coverage, so far it's only been advertised in forums and a newsgroup, and it had a veeeery slow start (mistrust, previous version not working in xp/w2k).
I hope it will be made available on official download pages as well...

By the way . . .
v0.5 is available now, and with v0.4 the most important changes from v0.3 are:
(since v0.4)
* automatic Morrowind process validation scan checkbox
* removed obsolete demand to set-up minimum View Distance before
validation scan (the scan do not became less reliable)
* auto mode on/off hotkey
(since v0.5)
* binding AI/View Distances ("misc page")
In other words, AI distance can now also be adjusted dynamically, relative to the view distance. You can switch between auto and manual mode during the game by a simple keystroke, validation runs pretty automated as well, and moreover, astasenko has polished the app a bit (minimize to system tray etc.). |

It took me a couple tries to figure it it out but seems to work great. Even in cities the view goes much further with smooth gameplay. Very cool. |

From the readme
[v0.7; 21/06/2002]
* now work with Morrowind v1.1 only
* ability to set View Distance beyond game default minimum value
[v0.6; 20/06/2002]
* fixed some problems - now *maybe* work on more systems
* fixed problems with shadows on View Distance beyond game maximum

I use windows millennium and it won't work... Maybe it works only on the unpatched game? it says it can't recognize the morrowind program. |

I got it to work, with the patched and no-cd game.
I am running under Window's XP. The optimizer jumped my FPS +10 everywhere. _________________ (-[ApoK Forever]-) |
