i know sometimes he dies when he falls backwards on the cliff but this time i took him rite up to the mine and he sat down and said he was having a break, when i got back he was gone but there was no sign he was eaten so where did he end up?

Where did Bilgot sit down and rest?
I suppose he decided to do so just in front of the mining tunnel which leads you back into the "new world" map.
If I should be right everything's okay, because the quest is finished then. He just vanishes and you'll never meet him again during the game.
Have you got EXPs while he told you that he was going to rest?

i made sure that i didnt kill the orcs near the trading square so when i finish the bilgot quest they ran over and killed him heh heh heh...
