Casting and aiming

I'm playing a magic user and am having trouble aiming my spells. They never go exactly where I want them to. Perhaps it's something I am doing incorrectly, but it's getting frustrating.

Even when I memorize the spell I have trouble sending it in the right direction. Do I have to have the inventory open to double click on the memorized spell? My magic missiles are always way off target.

Anyone have any tips on how best to cast spells and have them go where you want them to?

good question....

Magic Missile does NOT seem to be very precise... However Fireball goes right where you aim with your crosshair.... the catch is, Fireball takes about 3-5 seconds to get started properly before it goes shooting off, if something is too close, it does not seem to work properly... I haven't quite figured out Magic Missiles quirks yet, will let you know if I do...
