Hey, Ive been playing for a few days (the full version)... I had the demo a while back, and I loved the fact I didnt have to read haha 
but now there is no talking, only subtitles ... Ive changed the sounds options around and tried different combinations, and everything. The music works fine, subtitles are on. Anyone else had this problem? I'm going to try a few more htings ... hopefully someone can tell me at least a suggestion of wat i can do? Thx |

Hey there Getus,
Welcome to the boards,
Check in your Gothic/data/sound.vdf (sfx/ambient/etc') about 115,656 KB
Check in your Gothic/data/speech.vdf (dialogues) about 533,670 KB
If they are all there, then it looks like a sound-card/device/driver type related
problem, come back here to further (try some sound tests etc') if the problem
stays, if so then give details of your sound/card/driver etc'.

Did you uninstall the demo before installing the game?

Yea ... slight problem ... no speech file wat-so-ever :S its sitting at 0kb...
i tried reinstalling and got the same thing ... least we know why theres no sound hah  any suggestions? |

Hey there Getus,
Woooo, no speach files, this is often a problem that pops up when copying,
gothic speach info is on the number 2 cd (game data on cd 1), maybe borrow No.2 cd off a friend?

sigh ... none of my friends IRL play the game ... and unless ull be my friend - im screwed :S lol
especially considering its a 500mb file im missing here!
edit: actually, now that i think of it ... u being my friend wouldnt be too bad -- if its possible at all to maybe split the speech file, zip it, and send it? watcha think? (anyone on fourm??) |
