I am replaying (3rd time) Severance, and I am still amased how clean and sharp the graphics are.. The shadows are still the best ever (?), the physics system is solid and the game makes you think that all "movable" objects have mass and obey physics.
The combat is just great! Not simplified, not too complicated (even though the locking system and controls were a bit odd and Severence got flamed for this). Locking system just works great to maintain contact with an opponent and spot an enemy, which is not visible from the camera position but should be visible through the yes of the hero..
And it is just very ... rewording to see the results of your blade-work: blood spitting into the air, severed limbs bouncing around, and what is left of a goblin (I in particular enjoy killing goblins sinking onto the ground.. _________________ - Merz |

Thanks, anyway, Soltys. Pity -- she'd be a great person to be related to. |

UT2003 is exactly like the 'old' UT with a fun new gaming mode instead of assault. They just adapted some of the graphics to appeal to the Q3A crowd. So, don't expect a game which is quite different from UT... the bots are still customizable. If you liked UT you should check out UT2003, xSamhainx. _________________ Jaz |

Replaying Baldur's Gate while trying to finish Icewind Dale2 From time to time it is really tough to switch between AD&D and D&D 3rd.
My brother - an old fan of Might and Magic series recently bought M&M VIII in a discount store, I look at it and hated its graphics, though I understand that BG doesn't look much better.
Well, and right NOW I'm playing Magic the Gathering with my brother - table top still has some charm in it |

I just finished Blade of Darkness a week ago with the knight. Such a great game. It could've reached perfection if they'd included stats (for more customization) and a few more moves for the dwarf and amazon. Right now, I'm playing IWD2, and having a blast. I really wish another company would make a game like Blade... _________________ Give me the shadows, shield me from the light, and I shall let nothing pass in the darkness of the night. |

Wow!! someone else plays BattlezoneII:Combat Commander. I absolutely love that game, SirVinceAlot!! I just uninstalled it because I havent played it in awhile and with my 3 new games, I figured i best just take it off the pc for now.
The reason I was scared of buying UT2003 Jaz was because I read all these totally negative reader reviews on Gamepot about it. One guy even went so far as to say that the bots were uncustomizable. I guess this was false, huh? Then some dude I chat online with about gaming was b.i.otching about the rocket launcher being "Quake-afied": sped up and overpowered like Q3. That was the final draw for me, the one thing that pisses me off the most about Q3 is that the only real weapon to use is the rocketlauncher. In the original UT, the launcher is a bit slow and doesnt have as far of splash damage, and the weapons are pretty diverse so im constantly using all diffrent weapons as opposed to running around looking for the rocketlauncher, and dealing with the jumping rocket retards. Ill pick it up when it hits 40 bucks, Im kinda reeling from my 120$ of recent purrchases at the moment ='.'= _________________ “Then away out in the woods I heard that kind of a sound that a ghost makes when it wants to tell about something that's on its mind and can't make itself understood, and so can't rest easy in its grave, and has to go about that way every night grieving.”-Mark Twain |
