Having played Gothic 2, I will say that I have NEVER played a better game! It improves on Gothic in so many ways! Anyway, I think it deserves RPG of the Year more than any other game. However, many people think Knights of the Old Republic was better. Which game should be RPG of the Year? If you think that another game should be RPG of the Year, say so as well.

Let me say this, I really like KoTOR. It's a great game, but it has elements I absolutely HATE. Need I mention compulsory mini-games that require fast reflexes and reactions. Gothic had none of that, so for that reason alone, I'd rate Gothic2 ahead of KoTOR. Gothic was brilliant; I just wish we had the English version of the expansion.

Im a long war from finishing kotor so i cant vote.
So far I like things about both games. I think I liked the actual game engine of gothic more. I definitely appreciated its difficulty level more as in kotor I beat most enemies easily.
The story in kotor is really cool though. I think its better than the star wars movies actually. |

hmm, i think i'll choose Gothic, it has a very good gameplay and fighting system. better than KotOR... although KotOR is a great game.

I'm also disappointed with KotOR's system requirements. If they had spent a little more time developing it, they could've brought the system reqs. down to an 800mhz or 900mhz CPU. You can bet your bottom dollar I would've bought it if those had been the system reqs. (I have a 933mhz CPU).
