each weapon that gets +1 version in chap1 gets another version in chap3. Unfotunately, many of the weapons are +2. And that's constant. All that happens is that the smith swaps the items you put into the forge with a new premade item. So, the effects aren't cumulative. Also, the only sword that ends up +4 in chap3 is a katana. In fact, the only other +4 weapon, as far as I remember, was a dagger.[/quote]

I guess I was lucky with my +3 greatsword, that it turned out to be a +3 custom weapon after it's visit in the forge.
There are a few +5 weapons, but only against special enemies as far as i have found them.

Sweeter, sweetest

The real problem with finding a sweet bow is defining sweet. A bow with +4 Mighty, for instance, can give you up to four extra damage, but it's based on your sterngth modifier, so if you have a strength mod of +3 or less, you're better off with a cheaper bow, or one with a better to hit. But then, if you've got Dex out the wazoo, to hit chance doesn't make as much of a difference. I've found the real trick to playing an archer is finding decent armor without giving up my precious +7 Dex bonus.
