I agree with Ekim.
The gameplay greatly affects the view. Baldur's Gate was such a great game because there were great tactical battles, with wizards dimension door-ing all over the places with tonnes of skeletons rising from the ground and what not. And at times I hate the 1st person perspective in games because it is restrictive, confining and it just makes any kind of battle frantic, swirling around trying to see what hit you. Morrowind is at such a pace so it avoids anything like that but still, the point is there.
Not bad in an FPS as you just follow a long corridor through a level. _________________ -Denethorn |

I tink 1st person view has a BIG problem: sound.
In real life I would be aware of my surroundings, tanks to my perceptions. But in a 1st person game I see only what is exactly in front of me and hear a little (Even with 3d sounds and 6 speakers I could never realize where I was being attacked from).
3rd person view may have some drawbacks, but it's still the best... |
