I know it's got to be something obvious, but I'm stupid or blind. In the pinnacle of the mages tower, I freed the lich and he opened the door for me to the sanctum, but I can't get past the gate. I figure I need a key or something. I figured the key was in the tower somewhere, but have searched the tower 3 times and can't find anything. Please help. Have I got a bugged quest or something? I don't mind reloading back to the beginning. I liked killing all those undead hee hee.
edit added:
I'm at the gate where Maugrim, Aribeth and the Dragon Queen are. I've tried bashing and unlocking the door, have I forgotten something or missed something? Does that help?

Not sure Jm but it's looking like no one can remember that part or at least not the answer for you. You may have to go to the NWN site and check the walkthrough or post your question there. Which I could remember that part, put is's just been too long.

Open the save game with the DM client. Enter it as a DM and open the gate. Save it, then open it as normal with your character. Voila.
Edit: If you can't figure it out, e-mail the savegame to me and I'll fix it for you.

I'm not sure you're supposed to open that gate... I don't think I was able to either.. but a cutscene involving those people should trigger when you're near it. I didn't get that cutscene the first time and had to reload.

I screwed it up myself. I made it buggy and had to reload. I accepted the getting the head quest from one of the captains. I didn't bring him back the head, instead, came in the back way and killed him. I think finishing the captain quest is what triggers the scene between Morag, Maugrim and Aribeth. Gate opens by itself. Thanks for answering anyway.
