Mine just as bad: 5M down, 1M up.

Curses to those who live outside the city. They got 10M down for a lower price.

ADSL - 512Kbps down, 128Kbps up.

You kids with your fancy broadband connections - you really can't appreciate how fast they really are. Only 5Mbps down? It wasn't long ago that we had to transfer data at 56Kbps both ways. Uphill. In the snow... And for a real laugh, search google for "acoustic coupler" - yes, there was a time when you could almost count the bits going by!

And it is still very likely that more than 50% connected people - here in Czech Republic - have this dial-up modem 56 Kbps connection.
Other connections are too expensive.
I am one of them. Well, I have fast connection at work, so I use my home-connection only rarely. And therefor I stick with my slow and very cheap one.

Not so many years ago, when i bought a brand new 14kbps modem, and i thought, whew, this one rocks... Besides, even that i'm having that fast connection nowdays, it still works like that fancy 14kbps modem, sometimes
