The cemetary - fighting off the zombies

I'm stumped for the first time... I don't see how it is possible to defend both gates at the same time. When the timer gets down to about 1 minute, zombies start coming up everywhere on both gates. Even if I get a perfect head shot kill on every shot fired, I still don't see it being possible. Is there some big secret to keeping the zombies from breaking through the gates? Is it even possible?

two words- "melee weapon"

Do not try to do this mission with a firearm, you cant fire fast enough in my opinion. I dunno, someone prolly is going to come on and say they did it, but I purrsonally lost miserably both initial attempts using firearms, then I tried with a knife and completed it no problemo. They really are quite feeble, and you can basically cut a swath thru them like a whirlwind at one end, then burn over to the other end as quick as you can, then repeat.

Dont forget Celerity, it can help you out on this one as well.

Yup, Celerity and a katana will help you with that little quest the best.

I've tried this mission with most characters and it really is geared for the combat-monster characters (Brujah, Toreador, and Tremere).

At about 30 seconds they do go nuts and begin basically pounding the hell out of both gates, I found. Until that point I had no troubles defending them. That is where my gangrel failed, despite Warform (zombie bits flying everywhere).

However... my Tremere beat it by spamming blood salvo like crazy and the graveyard looks like a slaughterhouse in that game because of indesriminate use of Blood Boil (clears out the area nicely) in the last minute. The battle wasn't even a challenge for my Brujah (celerity 5 triggered for the last minute ... which stretched it out to two or three). Toreador with decent auspex and celerity and that rifle? No contest. Head-shot-o-riffic.

Couldn't do it with my ventrue or malk.

It's funny, now that you mention it, I don't even remember what clan I picked.

Anyway, I went back to that quest last night and completed it. I waited until I was stronger and faster (invested xp in my clerity, dexterity, melee, and ranged skills). It took me about 10 tries altogether (counting all the failed attempts from before my initial post), but I think I came up with a really good strategy that would work for anyone. Here's what I did:

Start using celerity about 1 minute into the fight and keep it on at all times from that point on. Use the katana until about 1 minute remains on the timer. Constantly run from gate to gate killing only the zombies nearest to the gates for the duration of the full 5 minutes. When 1 minute remains, throw on the flame thrower and do a quick 2 second side-step spraying across the front of the gates one gate after another until the quest is finished. The flame thrower only needs to set them on fire and the fire will kill them after a few seconds - which saves you time from having to stand around and wait until you're sure they're dead.

It only gives 1 more experience point than doing the alternate quest... which is a very easy 2 experience (VERY easy if you have a female character with an appearance/seduction of more than 4 or so).

I think it's just in there for anyone who complained about the lack of combat
