1. PB officially works exclusively on Gothic 3. If TNotR isn´t finished yet it will never be. They also said they won´t make a 2nd add-on.
We have every reason to believe work on the add-on has been completed last year, but this is not confirmed.

2. Iomar Eisenwolf, moderator on the official JoWood boards has posted this bit of news on the Gothic 2 boards in April:

"Bad news concerning the addon. I've talked with Plex if there will be an english version of the addon (Nacht des Raben), and he said that's a very difficult question. Many political problems are here within and it's not sure if there will be ever an english addon. this is out of the hands of JoWooD and Atari doesn't respond. Seems that the addon is temporary on ice or it died long before."

If the info is correct -and we can assume it´s correct because Plex is the JoWooD community manager - it implies that Atari has the rights to the add-on and they alone decide if or when it will be released.
Some time ago Atari announced that they´ll cut back 3rd party distribution. It´s possible the add-on isn´t considered profitable enough to spend resources on it.

This does not mean the add-on is dead. Atari can still release it later to capitalize on a broader G2 base or make a stealth release without an official announcement.

www.GamersWithJobs.com posted they received the info that Atari doesn´t want to release the add-on in North America. Atari UK still has plans for a UK release.

The Polish release date through CD Project is 08/26/04! The game will most likely be in Polish.

NotR and an early G3 tech demo are shown at the E3.

It seems like JoWooD was a bit underwhelmed by Atari´s G2 marketing. Now they´re trying to find another North American publisher for the add-on. If they succeed remains to be seen. A UK release is more likely.

Thanks Spunior!

Gamespot uploaded 34 new screenshots.

Two G3 updates will be in the news today.

Here´s a post by Desslock in the Q3t forums:

"I can confirm that JoWood now intends to publish an English version of the expansion pack. It may not be available in North America directly, but you'll at least be able to import it through GoGamer, etc.

Gothic 3 is much further away than I thought - no chance at an English version until 2006 (the German version isn't due until late 2005)"

In the latest PC Gamer he writes in an article about The Fall that Atari decided not to publish the add-on in North America.

Desslock usually knows what he´s talking about, so we can now assume that a UK version will be released in the foreseeable future.

The obvious candidate as a publisher or distributor would be Koch Media / Deep Silver.

Desslock also said that it will probably be a gold edition. Release should be expected in the summer.

CD Project delayed the Polish release to October. "Full Polish language" is confirmed.

A new "G2 Limited Gold Edition" is listed at Amazon Germany. Looks like JoWooD wants to cash-in with G2 one last time during the Christmas season. The new product is about 10 EUR more expensive than the current Gold Edition. Detailed infos not yet available.

It looks like TNotR will be released in various countries in Q1/05. The start is Poland on January 20th. Just a few days and we´ll know if it´s for real!

Another Gothic compilation will come out in Germany in a few months. This time with all Gothic games.
