Okay! I hate this! This is the second time I'm playing this game (I lost a lot during the last one...) and I still can't save Shany. I tried a few times:
First time - I stealthily followed them until the entrance, killed four with a fireball spell and when I slashed the last fellow, the demon is summoned. I slain it and restart...
Second time - I cast Invisibility and raced them to the secret room, killed the priest with a backstab and head out to finish the others off... Shany was not dead... but I cannot save her... ?! 
Third time - I followed them with Invisibility to the secret room, casted two fireballs and slain them all... Unfortunately, one of them hit Shany as well... I casted Douse and then Heal... but to no avail! HELP!!! |

I usually sneak behin them until all but one has entered the place and then attack the whole bunch (making sure not to hit Shany). That woeks for me. I know that if I wait for them to enter or I kill all of them before entering the secret room the demon is summoned so avoid doing that...
Do solution 3 but don't kill her  |

Huh?! I'm a little curious though, is Shany supposed to be saved on the altar (she's dead... but the priest couldn't even touch her!!!) or (if there is) not on the altar... Thank you! |

I know! I know!
The trigger for saving Shany doesn't actually start at the Serpent's Pillar - the trigger of Shany's model starts there - but the trigger for saving SHany starts when the priests enter the room! That means that if you killed all the Priests before they reached the room and finally kill the last one - you can NOT save Shany! If they opened the lever - you can start killing 'em!

what?! Lordof_destruction, please clarify. i don't understand your post. so are you saying that you have to let all the priest enter the room before you kill them? i.e. don't hack 'em before they reach the room?

I went through this several times and finally got the timing right. I am guessing there is a priest already in the room with her that will kill her and summon the demon if you kill his comrades too fast. What I did was sneak behind the priest and remain undetected until I could hear Shany's cries (around the detour to the underground lake I think) Once I heard this, I ran past all of the priest to the chamber and killed the priest about to sacrifice her or summon the demon or whatever. Then I turned to do battle with the other priests that were doing the march. Quest finished successfully.

He means you can't kill the first priest till the lever is pulled. However I picked off the last 3 priests with fireballs and sword before we got to the chamber. Then I ran and caught up with the first priest and waited for him to open the door then i just ran in and hacked the summoning priest to make sure i didn't hit shany and make sure he stops. Then it's just a matter of kicking thier 2 asses, which is easy they are weak. |

I had some trouble with this too,
I went down into the alter room and killed all the satanists, then lead shaney back up to her mother to claim my reward,
But while talking to the mom, i turned around to look at shaney
AND IT WAS THE DEAMON! The mom was just shaking her head,
i heard a guard snickering behind me..
Man did I feel stupid!

no, shany diodnt turn out to be a demon while talking to mom! if you didnt just make that up, i want every detail of how that happened so i can replay it and see that course of events happen, thats hilarious! i think you made it up. something makes me wanna go back and WATCH SHany get sliced. Something about that little girl irritated me, i dont know why. Tried to even slay her in the village once, but couldnt take on the whole town against me, so i had to replay it the right way. Maybe Im playing the game from the wrong side, LOL. Id like to write the expansion pack where you get to play the deomnic side... LOL. |
