Need advice to get past Atilla |
|
Greetings everyone,
I'm having some difficulty killing Atilla in the harbor area and need some advice. What I want to know is if I'm taking him on at to low a level and skill or do I just need to practice the combat more? I'm 3rd level with 20 str, 15 dex, and 15 on one-handed weapons. I have a sword that does 18 damage and I just can't beat him. I even have the game saved at this point so I can practice the combat but it's just whack, whack, dead! Is there something I should be doing different or is it just my non-dexterious fingers failing me?
Otherwise, I love this game and wish I had bought it long ago. Hopefully I will run across a copy of Gothic in the future. Thanks for the help. |

you've just gotta block his strikes and then a quick left hook when hes vunerable, then another block, then a hook, etc, etc.
its hard at the start but once u get in the rythm of his swings its ez u jus have to keep it up.
otherwise i guess u cud jus go n try n lvl up, or do sumat sneaky =) |

only good strategy to fight with humans is that strike and very quick block and strike and block and all over again to his fall... |

Thanks for the replies. I think the only way I'm going to get this guy is to go buy a bunch of healing stuff and then hit and run until he's dead. It's just going to take me a while to get good at the combat. Ah, well. It wouldn't be fun if it was easy. |

Finally, and I hope the crabs feast on his eyes!!! I figured out that part of my problem was I had tha camera angle to low and it was hard to see and get the timing right. I still have to get used to the keyboard controls but at least there's hope.
Oh, and his name is Attile, not Atilla. Just something ya notice when you're looting a dead guy. |

I just saw that this post was moved to the Spoilers Forum. I didn't think I had put spoilers in it but I guess I was wrong. Sorry |

Funny story about Attila. I beat him with a elongated stick! Or staff, whatever. I was playing a mage character and am surprised at the strength of the staff. I have killed people I couldn't kill with swords with a staff. GO STICKS! Maybe I'll try to beat the game with a actual stick next time. |

This is not a bug, it is a standard way of beating enemy that is stronger than you. I killed a whole orc village in similar way in Gothic 1 |
