Second level. Northwest part of the dungeon. They're being guarded by a bugbear and an ogre. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Ah yes, I did save them.
But after that, is there another "driving quest" or do you just explore and kill for the fun of it? |

Weeeellll.... Aren't heroes supposed to kill big bad evil dudes? Why does someone have to give you a quest to stamp out evil? _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Oh no.
I just wondered if I'd missed something, thats all.
I'm thoroughly enjoying being the hero-type and commiting
mass genocide of temple occupents. No further invitiation
was needed.
PS Don't like those little Mini-Me type Earth Elementals in
the Earth Node though; they're quite tough. I can't let them
live though, I want that place to be deserted! |

Yeah, those guys were a royal pain in the butt. What I hated was when some of them got badly injured and said "I must flee". Then the darn things take off before I can finish them, which makes drawing more out slowly a bit harder. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

I freely admit my test party didn't have the 'kill power' needed to beat the galub duhr (little earth guys) in the earth node. Instead my rogue snuck through the entire area, robbed all the chests, then headed for the guardian.
I didn't beat the Balor either (only tried once, though). Instead I stole his guardian gem with pickpocket and jumped through the exit gate.
God bless my halfling's thieving little heart. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

Well, I was able to kill everything with my fighter, thief, bard, sorcerer, and cleric combo. KISS ain't doing too bad either.
This game needs a bag of holding for all of my junk. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Same 5 character combo as I have which is why I know I certainly could beat the Balor if I tried hard enough (tough fight though... start every round as a fighter or rogue running shrieking in terror or charmed and killing the mage quite merrily was my experience ). _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

My bard, thief and sorcerer throwing cone of cold spells at the balor like mad softened him up quite a bit actually. Of course, I summoned the other guardians that I had beat to "distract" him with the occational summoned creature just before his turn so he wastes his round with melee attacks on a Summon Monster Level 1 celestial dog. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Yes, that would help. My friend beat the Hezrog first and summoned it to 'tank' against the Balor. Spiritual Weapon is another thing... it's indestructable. Heh. Zuggy fell for it.
Like I said, I tried once... and it was 2 am... and I didn't use scrolls or wands or other 'disposables'. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi
