I need help yet again.

Boy this game is tougher than Morrowind.

I am kind of stuck, and at the moment going round the harbor district as a militia man and mugging the people there. Mainly for exp. I cant kill worgs at level 9 nor can i do the light house quest.

I have wiped out the bandit hid out where Dexter is and cleared all the farms of the field raiders. And now I am at a loss as to how to continue. The tougher stuff is still to tough for me and the wolves that are left.... nearly extinct are easy. Still on chapter one if that is any help.

I have heard you can get to level 15 in chapter one prety easy but this is looking to be very hard to acheive. I have done all the militia quests that are given to a new militia man as well. Not been able to get into the thieves guild either as I saved a guy that had 50 gold from a merchant from jail. And he hangs round in the market place so I cant whack him one and get the key.

-Wargs are still to strong at the moment, try to kill them again later.

-Bring up your quest-log and finish those quests.

-To gain XP go hunting or do the guests that are left.
You can reach the thiefs-guild by different ways, Do Nagur's guest (you can find him in the bar in the harbor area), Betray him to lord Andre, get back to the bar and speak to the bartender, saly Atillia (or what was is name), take his key and open the door in the rockwall you can reach by swimmingin the sea.

Nagur wont speak to me and never has.

The quests that are left in my log are for expample go and kill the black troll.
Clear out the light house of bandits and find Bospers bow.

I have done all the quests I can do at my present level. I have even started a new character in the hopes that I have missed something early on that would help me more.

Itīs possible you cannot become a member of the thieves guild. Would you as a criminal let a police officer in your organisation ?!

You can ask Diego to escort you to the mercenaries. This will earn you one level. Do their newbie quests also.

Staying in chapter 1 isnīt important. Just donīt cross the pass to the valley of mines before you have level 10.

one quest you can do easily and where you get lots of exp is the one with black troll if you don't mind using a "bug"

you only have to run towards the troll very close. when you have focused him, just run behind him and kick his fat ass. so you can kill a black troll with a level one char. (it only may take a while)

so you get 1000 exp for the troll and again some when you talk to Rod again (i think it was him).

Or you can jump up on the stone to the left of the cave and stand there punshing it while it just stands there starting...looks like the troll is too big to hit you there

Take your time and explore. In Chap 1, you can also do the preliminary quests for all 3 guilds -- you don't have to limit yourself to the one you choose to join -- which can get you a lot more XP.

If you don't have a ranged attack, I'd get one. This game has lots of places where you can get up on a ledge out of reach and whittle down even very tough monsters like wargs without taking damage, even with a relatively low bow skill. Or use scrolls.

Don't forget your ALT key -- that lets you climb to the top of something even somewhat taller than you are, provided the edge is close to vertical. Most beasts can't climb.

Another approach that works very well in G2 is to lead monsters to NPCs, and vice versa. One approach to handling the lighthouse guys, for instance, is to arrange a meeting between them and the shadowbeast in the cave behind (though that's tricky!)

Remember too though that armor in G2 is associated with advancing the story, and so is access to more powerful weapons. So at some point you just need to go on to the next chapter to make progress.

aye after starting chapter 2 at level 10 I have noticed that things started to speed up alot. Now on to hunting dragons but I think I will take more time and gain some levels before that. I think they may be harder than the black troll... I kind of got him stuck so I could whack at him with my sword.

I must say that once the character becomes a paladin things get a whole lot easier with the spells and chain armor.
