My Bard's Music skill stays in 99 for a long time. How can I quickly trained it into 100?Or maybe it doesn't mean anything?
Thanks for your replies.

I think it doesnt mean anything.
Only primary skills (strenght, inteligence...) unlocke special abilities when value 100 is reached.

You are welcome...

BTW
as you noticed secondary skills could be encreased only up to 75, then you can encrease them only by using them. Every point takes more time and more practicing. So maybe step between 99 and 100 takes very long time, however it is not important for characters skills.

The toughest Music instrument to use only requires 80 in Music skill.

Kinda pointless, but...

Does the effectiveness of the instrument go up as the bard's music skill rises?? Does skill even have anything to do with it, or just to allow you to play certain things???

I think it adds damage and maybe also number of attacks per round.

Maybe not so pointless at all.
If you get better in the music skills, the better you are to hit the right tunes on your instrument, and the better the magic it cast. I'm not sure if it's true (can't remember), and I seems to recall that every instrument has a fixed power level written on the instrument in the info-box for an instrument, as well as the music level needed for using the instruments. If that's true I don't think the power of the spells will rise according to your music skills!

I have a faerie bard (she was transferred from Wiz7, back when a bard also learned mage spells, which explains the race) who has 100 music skill. I had no problem going from 99 to 100. But I have never gotten past 100, despite her using musical instruments a LOT! I have other characters who have broken then 100 point barrier, e.g. my priest has > 100 divinity. I suspect their may be some racial limits on skills, although I have no proof of this. If your planning to replay the game, I wouldn't necessarily recommend a faerie bard though, as faeries have less stamina than other races.

Every character can encrease to value higher than 100 only one special ability this ability is for:
Valkyrie - polearm
Priest - divinity
Ranger - range combat
Fighter - close combat
Mage - wizardry
Monk - martial arts
Bard - communication

As you can see, characters specific ability can be from every part of its sheet, not only form primary abilities.

Or ofcourse you can use items that add ability to you or increase your ability to value higher than 100.

Actually you can't train your skills bayond 100 points. However a characters special ability will add an bonus on 20% ontop of your current skill according to Danicek's list above. Also some special items can additional increase an ability for even higher numbers. Making total skill points bayond 120 possible!
