Ignorant, Justified or just plain ol' Hate Mongers?

I admit that I don't know a lot about the situation in Iraq because I don't like wasteing time trying to sift through propaganda but this really boggles my mind.

As far as I know Iraq will be a 'free' country and the people will be able to follow whatever religion they see fit. So, why on earth do they (Islamists or whoever) feel the need try and stop the progress of it? Is it against their religion to be free or is it a requirement of their religion to constantly be killing?

Regardless of their reasons for killing I don't and CANNOT respect somebody who takes such glee in death. I can understand fighting for ideals, freedom, because god said so but I don't understand how anybody can take pleasure in death!

Not everyone hated Saddam as their president for life.

Some people like the freedom but hate the Americans.

Some people feel the Americans have overstayed their welcome.

Some people are confused and angry and just want to strike out... the people who invaded your country are a good a target as any.

The reasons are legion the result is the same.

@Korplem- I hear you, but unfortunately this issue cannot (or should not) be seen in black and white. I too don't understand how people can take joy in the death of others. However, those pictures you linked to probably came from American news media, and as most people know, the American news media likes to report all the bad things rather than the good things, unless it is extremely important. So naturally you're going to get pictures of Iraqis gleefully dancing around dead U.S. soldiers rather than Iraqis cheering the troops. And of course there are those who do support the U.S., but the media makes it seem as if practically the whole country is against us.

It's true that not all of them are like that but the fact still remains that some of them are.

And some people in the US still assume that all Middle Eastern men are potential terrorists.

A minority of people will nearly always judge a majority unfavorably. It's a side effect of being outnumbered and defensive.
