Gamecloud's Kudos & Klunkers of 2005

In two editorial pieces on Gamecloud, the editors highlight the best and worst of 2005. Leading the 'klunkers' section is Microsoft for their clumsy release of two different versions of the XBox 360. Conversely, Microsoft also earns first spot on the 'kudos' side for the XBox 360's intuitive user interface and to the Microsoft Live! team. You can read the kudos and the klunkers at Gamecloud.

Whomever wrote this article is either a good liar, or the biggest gaming noob that has ever existed.

First point of contention: He claims Project Snowblind was good. Is he on crack? Did he even PLAY it? Project Snowblind suffered from a horribly flawed console-esque save system, recycled Playstation graphics, TREMENDOUS BUGS that locked up your PC and made the game nearly unplayable on Nvidia cards for the first two months of its release, and had gameplay so unimaginative and AI so incredibly inept that you could beat the game without using a single one of your "powers" at all...not that you'd want to anyway. Heck, the game was actually the result of an unfinished Deus Ex spin-off game that was canned and later resurrected.

Second Point of Contention: Perfect Dark Zero isn't great, but it isn't as bad as he suggests. Chances are, this guy is a middle income nobody who can't afford a real HDTV...so he doesn't know how incredibly amazing that game looks in 1080i widescreen. Sure, the framerate hiccups in the cinema scenes, but in combat, it's gorgeous. By far, the best looking shooter outside of FEAR. And that's saying a lot coming from a diehard console-hating PC FPS fanboy like myself. Heck, even the Multiplayer is dead-on perfect. I've been playing MP exclusively over live, and it is one of the most balanced Multiplayer FPS games I've ever played. Ever. (Could use more maps though)

That "Kudos/kluncker" article is garbage.
