All I can say about Gothic. Is it's like having sex with the most amazing women. And then just when you are about to orgasm. Nothing, yeah, nothing happens. What the hell is the ending all about. I get a little poopey video, then credits, then kicked back to my desktop. And nothing special. I can't use my character in a new game or anything. And I have a question about 1 and 2 hand fighting. I beat the game only being %10 in bolth. Where and how the hell do you get higher then that. Anyways, I'd have to say great game, but horrible ending. And the fact that nothing changes if you start a new game, that sucks too. Ya, and it took me 35 hours.

Hey Bigkabuto, give the guy a break man! Come on, he's just being cool about the fact that he was expecting something more at the end. where's all that aggressiveness coming from dude? He did say he loved the game so why fight amongst us, we are all in the same boat 'casue we all support the game.
It's not like you guys belong to different camps...

Hehe Leander, nice one about the camps.
Yeah, the ending sucks. And you CAN start a new game with your old character. It's a little cheating, and a little editing... BUt you can do it.
Just use the HERO EXPORT NAME, and HERO IMPORT NAME commands.
Gorath made a very good point when he said that PB had to cut out a lot of the game. You've probably noticed this because of all the useless unique characters, and all that special chit-chat that leads no where. |

I completely agree about the ending. I was thinking Gothic had RPG GOY written all over it until I hit that ending. It's just plain bad. In fact it's worse than bad.
Denying a player his right to kill the final boss is almost ludicrous. I hope no game company ever does something like that again.
As for the 10% comment. That's your chance to crit hit. Considering that you can knock the crap out of things with the right weapon, I don't think limiting crit hit to 10% is really that bad. |

Uhm.
I mastered 1h and 2h sword and crossbow, and still had 100 in base str/dex... What do you spend your experience points on? 
I liked the ending. It felt satisfying, knowing that there will be a sequel to an otherwise great game.
And perhaps there where a few things cut out, but it doesnt take away the joy of what was added!
I heve never before seen a game in wich you can do so many useless but fun stuff... Like frying your meat, forging weapons and PLAYING LUTE!!!
