fps in gothic 1 and gothic 2

hey!

why is gothic 1 has a slower fps count on my pc compared to gothic 2? under high performance configuration, gothic 2 in my pc has a top fps count of over 30 compared to gothic 1 under the same configuration has only a top fps count of 20.

my pc:
-p3 733
-inno 3D geforce 2mx 400
-creative soundblaster live! value
-128 RAM
-winxp pro OS

do i need to tweak something here?

Gothic is locked at 23 fps while G2 is 18 months more advanced.
It´s very unlikely you get playable framerates with this system. Even if you upgrade to 512 MB RAM you´ll hardly get anywhere near 20 fps in the G2 harbour area if you activate some eye candy.
No offense, but 128 MB under WinXP Pro sounds totally unadequate. 512 MB is minimum for serious gaming.

that's why i traded my gothic 2 to gothic 1 with some cash.

i'm planning a to buy additional memory with the cash.

Some people tried G2 on PCs similar to yours, with 512MB. Seemed to be playable.
