Using a gamepad

Hi there,

I have been having keyboard problems with the laptop I use to play Gothic, with sudden lockdowns were the keyboard won't recognise any imput.

While I try and fix the problem (seems like its going to be quite a long time, given that no computer expert or technical service has found any reasons for the lockdown so far...), I am using a gamepad to play. It's differnet than the usual key-mouse, combo, but quite easy once used to it.

Anyway, my question...

How can I map the look down-up to the pad? I can use the turn rigth and left key mappings to substitute the mouse, but what about up and down?

Thanks, and sorry for the ramblings

Welcome to our forum!

Iīll move your thread to the General forum. Itīs not really a bug.

Good gamepads work with the Gothics. There should be a way to map the keys.

If you are using a Saitek gamepad then you can download the Morrowind profile from their site and edit that. The mapping of the two joysticks is the same for both games.

joytokey

Another way to map a gamepad into ANY game is to download the freeware utility 'joytokey' (Google it).

This program allows you to transfer keyboard keys and mouse movement to any pad, in any game or for any other keyboard/mouse use you can think of. I am so accustomed to it now that I use it for everything even if there is gamepad support, since it is so flexible. I keep a joytokey profile for every game.
