Mages in NOTR

hello all.

I've finally cracked and orderer Gothic gold from the states. I've had the original gothic 2 ages, but decided to order the gold version from the US cos i was tired of waiting for the addon in the UK.

Anyway, to my small query...

When i played the original i played as a mage, and was thinking of playing as a mage again in the addon (i like mages). Are the "mage specific" quests (and joining quests) different in NOTR or are they basically the same? If they are completly the same, i may have a whirl playing as a Merc, but i liked the sound of how difficult it is as a mage in NOTR.

All comments will be greatly appreciated!

All the Mage quests are basically the same (except what goes on in the Addon world, of course), but because of the rebalancing of monsters, LP costs for attributes and skills, and new NPCs, playing a Mage in NotR is more challenging than a Paladin or Merc, and more challenging than in vanilla G2 by far.

But what am I saying, you need to play it at least three times (once each as Paladin, Merc and Mage) anyway!
