There are a couple of known German-brewed gfx engines
in which G3 could be,taking into account my limited
understanding of gaming projects, be based on. One
is the codecreatures Engine (By codecult formerly under
phenomedia as was PB and if you look at the Demo credits
of the codecreatures benchmark you will see more than one
familiar name ).The other one is the Krass engine
used i.e in Spellforce (while I was playing it in 3rd person
perspective I kept thinking what PB could have done with this
engine given its obvious knack for world building and superior
skill in producing living-breathing environments with much less
on its hands engine-wise).
There is nothing to indicate ofcourse that either is used
but perhaps they opted for the "locally producted" ?
P.S I wonder why PB hasn't announced the engine yet ?
Could it be because they are not certain if they are gonna
use it in the end or actually revert to something totally
custom ? Or perhaps there is a clause in the contract with the
engine licencer ? |

That's the reason. _________________ Jaz |

Then We'll just have to wait I guess(besides graphics
are hardly the most important aspect of the series imo).
I just hope that such a design decision, if made, will not
prolong development time too much. |

I also hope the new graphics engine resembles the old engine. I want the environments and characters and effects to look better, but I also want the same Gothic look. It would subtract from the experience if this is not so. Oh, and by the way, if Gothic 3 is not released in English, I'm learning German. _________________ OMG! WTF?! MONKEYS!!!!

The graphics engine used for a game has little to do with looks - it's all about possibilities. _________________ Jaz |

ehe well as most u ppl allready know i never wanted any changes much well imo G3 should be with a little bit better graphics tho not much and well the inventory i thought could be like that like it was in Quest For Glory 5 remember if u selekt the item lets say a gold coin then there lets say on the left or the right is an icon with a 3D little box and the coin flips around and under it is a description what it is it adds in nicely ehe. Tho everythign else should be still the same cos they looked allready too perfect and if they over do the too perfect it might get too shjittie like DeusEx2 was the graphics are awesome there but a little bit tooo animated allready it became a little bit too much a cartoon |
