Help! I'm in the mine on the mission to destroy the minecrawler's nest, and after I ask the dude to open the gate (I already got the password and two templars) he just steps away, and when I try to open the gate, it says the gate is jammed! How do I unjam it?

Thanks in advance for yer help!

Two or Three Templars... It doesn't matter.
It's not hard to get 3 Templars, so get three instead of two.

And gates are really buggy in Gothic.
I never get gate problems myself... But a lot of guys do. Especially at that specific gate.

You have to hold it open for a while before you release it.

I too am having problems getting into the gate and slay those minecrawling scum.
I did what I was told to do. Got the gear for Ian, received the password for the gate. Then I was told to get 3 or 4 Templars. I guess I'm confused.

I have talked to 'Templars' but do not get an option to ask for help. However, I did ask Gor Na Kosh, Gor Na Vid and Gor Na Bar. They agreed to help. Are these guys considered 'Templars'?

Anyway, Gor Na Kosh and Gor Na Vid went and sat down to enjoy watching that poor orc slave as they waited for me to ope the gate. But that bastard Gor Na Bar will not come down. He just stands around talking to a the ridiculas gimmerish with a 'templar'.

And when I tried to re-talk to him, all I get is the option 'END'. Now the gate guard won't even talk to me.

What in the 'Blue Hell' am I doing wrong?

The named guys are Templars and they are the ones you need to have help. If he is not coming down you may have choosen an incorrect dialogue option. Try reloading, insert him, or possess him and hit F8.

Yes, using marvin mode you can insert npcs. Visit here for the insert code.

Val, I tried to 'insert' the character.

But it didn't work, giving me an error of 'Gor' not found. So oviously I need to figure out what [name] means and what to call Gor Na Bar before this will work.

Any suggestions?
Or is there a list someplace that has the 'insertable' command names that can be used? Thanks again.

I've never used 3 templars at that gate. I get two, talk to the guy again and he says 'go ahead' and I open it. It hasn't jammed on me yet.

If it has jammed on you... well... you'll have to either look up the trigger event to use in cheat mode, or activate cheat mode to get through the door (and hope you can take about 8 minecrawlers at once).

It's a pity about the game ending bugs in Gothic. SUpposed saving in a different slot, reloading, moving files around or a bunch of other things work too... but I went right for the sure fire cheat.

You don't need three tempelers! If you are trained in one handed weapons and have one that does more than 50 damage, than you can kill those crawlers very easily.

If the bow is more to your liking, than with higher dexterity you can kill them with one or two shots!

As for getting past the gate. If the gate will NOT open, than you will have to use marvin mode (in that case, it won't matter how many tempelers you get, because all they will be able to do is watch you fight!)

P.S. I found that using the "Light" spell worked much better than using a torch. With the spell, you didn't lose your light source, as soon as you started to fight!

I was level 8, had a 29 damage axe, light shadow armor, and untrained in one hand weapons.

The gate opened for me... I lured all the crawlers back to the templars.

I came back a chapter later to kill the queen, as I couldn't harm her in the slighest at that time.
