Remote controlling ships?

I'm playing the Demo and you are supposed to remote control a Nova. I have not idea how to do this. You are in a big ship and the Nova is aways away on the map. Any help is appreciated!

Assuming the correct software, press R to bring up the menu of things you own and then Dbl Click on the Nova to bring up its interface. Go to the console and select the task you want. You may to have to use S, then C.

Yes, until you get used to them, the controls are very tricky and often confusing. The manual doesn't help much. Wait till you have to distinguish between the two different consoles!! Don't worry though, we'll help.

After a while remote controlling ships becomes second nature. Actually, it becomes your prefered way of doing things... after a few hours I would never fly any ship manually except to fight.

It took me a while to figure out how to control ships remotely, but once I got the hang of it it was easy.

Are there any spreadsheet like mods out there to simplify running a trade empire? I am not anywhere near that stage yet, but I can see where this game can get QUITE messy very quickly.
