NotR 'Attemted Murder' help

Hi:

I am in the midst of the new world, have done a bunch of pirate stuff, gave the weed and potion to get Fortuno his memory back, and am trying to do the assassination quest. I knocked off Senyan, talked to everybody, but have been pretty non-committal about whether I am for or against the assassin.

My journal says that 'I have Huno by the balls' or something like that, but I can't get it further - Huno just tells me to scram, Estaban won't talk to me again ... any hints for me?

Thanks,

Mike

Well, I ended up just demanding the stones from Esteban, which meant a fight broke out. But at least I could proceed, and already being level 38 I could afford to lose the couple-hundred XP.

If anyone has clues what I could do, I still have a save.

Thanks,

Mike

Not sure if and where you went wrong, but I had no problem after killing Senyan. I think you have to be committal and some point and declare where you stand. I'm pretty sure its set up so you have to side against Estaban. So tell the other npcs that you want to help out the attempted murderer and should work out from there.

Everyone pretty much hates Estaban anyways so let em know about it.You may want to avoid saying this to the one or two npcs are on Estaban's side or neutral (bartender gives clues). But even if you say to the wrong person (e.g., Finn) I dont think it causes any problems.

Edit: Also at some point, you need to get more info from Huno's assistant and this takes repeated conversations and threats to make him break. Not sure if you did this already or not. And Fortuno has absolutely nothing to do with this business, his is a separate quest.

When you complete the quest by helping take out Estaban it becomes apparent that Estaban planned on screwing you over anyways, so I think you basically have to kill im one way or another. Might as well do it the safer way that also gives you quest bonus.
