So Jowood is paying attention to their games after all. The line between legal and illegal was becoming really thin here. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Yea, they "pay attention". Funny how they jump up their seats when people try to make the add-on finally work in english, but at the same time they don't even more a finger to actually RELEASE the damn package in english. So-called localised packages have come out in some countries, from where the people from other countries can't get it, but JoWood just sits there playing pocket pool with... you know with what.
It's getting to be pathetic already. First we see in some G3 production movie and some JoWood fella tells how interested they are in delivering their product to the customers, especially the english language versions. Also everyone KNOWS that english text, both spoken and written, has been completed long time ago. Now all see that the english version of the game is released in numerous countries, except in UK and US, and people from other countries then the package is on sale can't get it. And bloody JoWood STILL SITS there and does nothing!
Good example of lame work. _________________ Been there, done that . . . |

And? It´s their game. They decide where they want to release the game. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

AND? It's our money to decide if we will buy it after being treated like crap. It;s not wise to piss off your customer base _________________ Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?

Yeah Whailor you are damn right. Its like jowood is basicly just insulting their english customers.Hard to see any logic behind this strategy.Unless they just fancy bad PR. Seriously why on earth have released the notr in ITALY but not in UK? Isn't UK the biggest games-market in europe after germany?
Sure its their game, but I think people have right to express their oppinion about jowood's way to treat customers. They have not even bothered to infrom us fans whats the deal.
Can't help thinking how badly will they treat us when gothic 3 is ready. _________________ The focused mind can pierce through stone |

Actually it is ATARI, the license holder to publish the English version, is the stubborn company that will not let JoWooD publish in the English speaking territories.
Atarti is being a bull head. Be glad that JoWooD is allowing an add-on version to be published with the English voices on it; just that we have to rip the voices and text ourselves, to be legal for our own personal use.
You can buy copies from Italy. Remember to use your NotR German add-on over the English Gothic 2. Then the files will work. But each person must do this for themselves. _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut?

If I remembe right, Atari didn't get the kind of sales from Gothic 2 that they wanted, so that is why they don't want to bring out NOTR to the US. I wonder if they didn't get the US sales they wanted because they sat on the US version for so long that people ended up importing it from the UK, I know I did- I had Gothic 2 for many months before it even hit the US. |

I only have the UK version just because of that reason. The US Atari took months to get it to USA, so we bought from GoGamer.com the import from UK months earlier, thus ATARI thinking it did not sell well in USA.
Too bad publisher ATARI went with that stupid console game DRIV3R III, which was a huge flop, over the gothic 2 add-on. The add-on was ready to go since atleast the manual was printed in 2004.
Infrogrames published my version from the UK Gothic 2 v1.31.
Later 'Infrogrames' become ATARI in name. Then the merde hit the fan ever since. _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut? |

I thought this game is already licensed in the UK, so writing a fansub addon is also illegal (like errrr... pirating) too, amirite?
Hmm... double standards. Interesting. |

JoWood Lawyers: "Leave it to us..."
