Blood Omen on PSX(One) was awsome. It had bad collision & lagged play-control(ie i press right and 1 second later he starts walking) but the storyline, old-school(2d isometric) graphics and awsome voice acting made up for this. This game was bloody, violent as hell, and had a killer story.
Blood Omen 2 is really really boring. yes the game is 3d, but the game plays like a dump-truck. It has the camera that follows you...instead of one that you can control on the fly with the right analog stick like Otogi Myth of Demons. I rented this and made it halfway through and got so bored I shut the system off.
Legacy of Kain Defiance is awsome. It smokes 2 & both Soul Reavers. Why? It is very violent like part 1 and the story is very dark like part one and you get to control both characters in a Devil May Cry fashion. You get to do juggles and combos instead of pushing freaking boxes around.
I would rent Omen 2...you'll see...the game is so boring. It's not even worth 10 bucks. If you want a mind-blowing action game try Otogi Myth of Demons for Xbox. It's like you mix Chakan the Forever Man(Genesis) with Shinobi or Ninja Gaiden. It has killer Japanese music(drums, koto, shamisen) great 2d art for menues. Killer 3D art and levels...even blows Panzer Dragoon Orta out of the water and an very high difficulty with 29 levels. This game got bad reviews but that is because it is a sleeper hit. If you have an Xbox rent this sucker...you'll never waste your time with Devil May Cry, Shinobi, Legacy of Kain again. You can buy magic & weapons and destroy everything in the levels. You will play all the levels over and over to get higher scores and to level you character up...so you can finally beat the insane later levels. I wish Legacy of Kain would achieve this level of gameplay.
Anyay...Blood Omen Legacy of Kain & Defiance are both very fun but flawed games.
Soul Reaver 1&2, and Omen 2 are incredibly boring for gameplay. Lots of pushing boxes around.
