Hello all. I've been playing for a couple months now, and I got stuck at one point in Trynton. After going to the rat's bough, the 1st building you come to needs a specific item to unlock, and I can't figure out what the item is. Also, there is a room that looks like a jail cell with a treasure chest inside the cell, and I can't get the door open.
On another note, I seem to have gotten rid of the 3 short staffs I had, and I can't get into the northern wilderness easter egg dungeon. Is there a place I can find another short staff? |

First off, welcome to the boards.
You have a good bit more adventuring to do before getting into that building and "cell". I can give you a complete spoiler if you want.
Short staves seem to get very rare as the party's level gets higher. You might check with Burz back at the monestary.

On the Short Staves: Burz and Antone will sell them regardless of your level, but you will need to potentially sleep quite a bit for them to show up in their inventory list. If you are not playing Iron-man mode, camp 3 times, quick save, then talk to Antone or Burz, see if he is selling a Short Staff. If not, quick load your save game, then talk again.
A vendor's inventory gets recycled after some time, 3 camps is enough time to recycle the inventory. The new inventory is determined when conversation is initiated.
I did some testing on this a while ago and regardless of your level, a short staff will eventually show up.
Of course if you are playing Ironman, then you will have to camp 3 more times after talking to Antone or Burz to recycle their inventory as there is no quick saving/loading. |

whaddaya mean by "got rid of"?
if you mean you threw it on the ground, just go back and get it. i toss low level spears, staves, blades and the like all over the place... well, actually, i usually dump 'em all near each other, so they show up on my map.
