The mob's already formed over at Gamespy so get cracking!

There's been some reviews where I wondered if the reviewer played past the first chapter, but perhaps this one didn't even get that far. Anyone taking bets?

I'm betting he somehow managed to trip over his own feet on his way out of Xardas' tower, then roll head over heels off the nearest cliff.

That is why I get all my game reviews from members of RPGdot. I think Dhruin has given some excellent reviews, and I trust people here to tell it like it is. I've been burned a few times by those so called reviewers, who, as has be refered to already, don't seem to have taken the game out of the box, much less played it.

I don't think we here at RPGDot have a good record for being first with our reviews. Which is probably caused because we never are
EverythingXen is a good example of this. I sometimes want to jump on his legs for taking so long before he completes a review, but once he does deliver it. He played the game in different ways to get a real feeling for things. I like to think that eventhough we are not the first with our reviews, they are solid. That said, all reviews, including ours are only an opinion. Everybody is entitled to have a different view on things.

To hell with 'chill out, everyone can have their opinions' . This is passed of as a 'Review', not an 'opinion'. The writer and publisher therefore have responsibilities.
Here's my feedback to Gamespy:

'Dear Gamespy,
As a result of your Gothic 2 review, I will never, ever return to your site, and shall tell as many others as possible to do likewise. You represent everything that is regressive, stupid and worthless about the gaming press. Enjoy your inevitable death from lack of advertising revenue.'

Yeah, yeah, sticks and stones, etc. It made me feel better regardless.
And - who cares how USA sites review G2 - it did well in the rest of the world. And America is eventually going to collapse under the weight of its own stupidity anyway....

Hey now... I need to GET the review copies before I can review them. It's not my fault Canada post seems to be a black hole when it comes to delivering games by courier.

That's the longest part of the process... I'll play a game for 80 hours pretty much straight to get a review out within a week or so of actually receiving the game.

As for reviewers who don't play all the way through at LEAST once? Meh. I may get flamed for giving high marks where others give 60s or 70s... or less... but I don't allow other reviewers or the fanbase to influece my reviews. And I always finish the game if it is at all possible on my machine (ie: No unpassable crashes). No exceptions .

Of course they're still around and every game that pimps their crappy Gamespy Arcade gets at least 4 stars. To bad for Gothic it's a pure singleplayer game from a small, unknown developer...

I'm sure your country is filled with super intelligent megacitizens that are enjoying a high GDP yield due to all their superb decision making, but I think game reviewing has nothing to do with how stupid a country is.

I think the editors here should do a review on GameSpy. 2 out of 5? That's ridiculous.
