Hironobu Sakaguchi Joins Microsoft Game Studios

Today Microsoft announces the arrival of Hironobu Sakaguchi, the legendary video game creator and president of the studio of Mistwalker plays. Together with Hironobu Sakaguchi, Microsoft Game Studios will develop a role playing games exclusively intended for the next generation of the Xbox platform. Hironobu Sakaguchi is known as the creator of the plays Final Fantasy, of which more than 60 million units were sold in the world to date. He was an executive vice-president in charge of the development of the plays at Square Enix until February 2001. Hironobu Sakaguchi, which shares the vision of Microsoft as for the next generation of video games, will direct the creation of two role plaies exclusively intended for Xbox. These titles will be published by Microsoft Game Studios.


"Thanks to Sakaguchi-san, the role plaies - traditionally a market of niche - knew to allure general public from the world ... We are extremely happy to work with him, and we are delighted by what this news means for Xbox but also for the players of the whole world.", Declares Peter Moore, Vice-Président Groups charged of the editions and marketing on a world level at Microsoft.

"I feel full with enthusiasm when I think of the two plays epic that we will develop ... Several creators of talent agreed to contribute to these projects and, I am convinced by it, the plays that we will be able to create will bring to the gamers of the feelings of a new type ... the advanced technologies introduced by Microsoft into his platform of next generation will allow me to give life to a whole series of ideas on which I reflected years since ... I want that these two projects are animated by a new vision of the play and that they depict in a way alive of new characters who will transcend the virtual one to take seat in the heart of the players and will make time passed with my creations a happy and durable memory.", Hironobu Sakaguchi Declares.

Hironobu Sakaguchi began its career in 1986 at Square Co Ltd, as director of planning and the development. Promoted vice-president in 1991, he became president de Square, Inc. (today Public garden the USA, Inc.) in 1995. In 2000, it received a distinction very envied while entering the Hall of Fame of Academy of Interactive Arts & Science (AIAS) for its revolutionary work on the series Final Fantasy. In 2004, Hironobu Sakaguchi announced the creation of its own studio of development, named Mistwalker.
