And to think Gothic 3 will probably have even higher requirements.

Bethesda should be clearer - this game requires a 256MG vid card. Those min requirements are a joke (as usual!)

That's utter BS. I've got a 1.8 AMD, 1GB RAM and a GF 5900XT and with everything tweaked to the maximum, Morrowind *did* run smoothly @ 1024*768.

However, I get the feeling that Oblivion won't even budge. Gotta get some serious cash real soon...

Utter BS? I don't think you know what you're talking about bro. First of all, 1024x768 is not playing with "everything turned up". I'm talking about playing at 1024x768 and higher with 4x anti-aliasing, 16x anistropic filtering, all detail options set to maximum, and view distance maxed out.

When I first got Morrowind I had a 'state of the art' system at the time.
Athlonxp 2100+, 512 ram, and a 128mb GeForce 4. I could run Morrowind fine with 'medium' settings, but it wasn't until my next upgrade(Athlonxp 3200+, 1024 ram and a Radeon 9700pro) that I could play with the above settings and have 100% smooth gameplay.

Morrowind specs as listed on the box.

Min requirements- 500MHz cpu, 128mb ram and 32mb video card.

Recommended - 800MHz cpu, 256mb and a GeForce 2 GTS, or Radeon 7500 videocard or better.

Are you kidding me?!? Try playing Morrowind with an 800MHz cpu, and 256 of ram with ANY settings. Enjoy the slideshow that follows. I just hope Bethesda is a little more realistic and honest about the requirements for Oblivion.

god that post was funny.

You play MW with AF at 16x?

That's like putting your pet dog in a cute christmas sweater.

Looks nice, but is completely and utterly pointless.
