Yeah, you can assign potions to hotkeys. Enable the setting in the "Gothic.ini" file within the game directory, and use "H" for healing and "P" for mana.

I'd tell you exactly where in the ini file it is, but I'm at work and don't have access. Hope this helps.

Yes you can. Open the Gothic.ini file and look for this:

usePotionKeys=1
; ... with this value you are allowed to use the potion keys if set to "1". potionkeys do not work and are not visible in the keyboard settings if you leave this to "0"
; we feel potion shortkeys suck in gameplay, so you will manually have to enable them here

Just change the 0 into 1 and then you'll see under the controls/more keys section that u change assign keys to mana and health.
