Howsabout Shadowbane? Has any sites posted "first impressions" of the game? I'm pretty curious about it. I don't really see how an MMORPG so PvP oriented could be successful, as it seems to turn out to be a huge mess, where newbie players get frustrated out of their minds and give it up in the first coupla days. (Early UO certainly had a bit of that action going on.) And the graphics ... well, some character models look pretty cool, like the Minotaur, but overall it looks a little ... ... lacking. But if it's supposed to be good, I wanna keep an open mind, and give it a shot. |

Isn't it true that players of AC are leaving the game in droves due to the macro players and bots? That's what I've heard on the EQ vault board, many former AC players have been posting there. I also heard that the use of macros will be allowed in AC2 as well. AC2 does look interesting but after hearing about the exodus of late, I'm a bit wary. _________________ =Member of the Non-Flamer's Guild

AC2 and AC1 are different games. Also the CoC has been changed so that no macroing will be allowed in AC2. When that CoC goes live, experience macroing and item farming will be a bannable offense.
I do not know about the situation with AC1 currently, its been way over one year since I played it last. _________________ =Moderator of General MMORPG talk forum=

I prefer pvp orientated mmorpg's with only a few safezones and no flags. so i am waiting for :Dominus online and Darkfall online 2 heavily player conflict based MOG's in production.
Shadowbane first impressions were posted back in 1999 look deep in the SB fansites archives to find them.
AC1 has/had alot of macroers and bots for a long time now. I don't think people only start to leave the game enmass because of those now. Those that had a problem with that left a long time ago.

i might be a bit based since i am also on the Dominus Online team |

World of Warcraft is going to take a while probably. But it's going to own when it's released. _________________ Like some bold seer in a trance;

Even this is not new, DAoC still has the kick The current gfx-engine staggers badly in big RvR batles, no matter what kind of machine you have. But the expansion pack, Shrouded Isles, will be released quite shortly (this year) and it should solve this problem (although it might require atleast a GF3/ATI8500 level card). _________________ =Moderator of General MMORPG talk forum=

Why no mention of dragon empires? It looks to be the most inovative MMORPG currently in development |

Oh yeah, Dragon Empire looks good yeah.
Also, has anyone mentioned Realms of Torment ? Go check it out, it looks sweet and according to the devs they will go beta shortly, we will see.
(Few of the devs play DAoC too, I've grouped with them some) _________________ =Moderator of General MMORPG talk forum=

Hmm, I don't know why the poll has a Single player RPG as an option if it's titled as "Next-Gen MMORPGs! Which are YOU gonna get?"

I'm going for EQ2 and maybe The I of the dragon, both of wich seems promising. Unless there come an 3E Forgotten Realm / D&D online game... _________________ regards, Ann DeFerm |

You mean besides Neverwinter Nights? Which can be fantastic OR lame online, depending on who the DM is. I've found the 'strictly roleplay' servers to be the best, overall. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi
