I agree, Lintra. Episode 4 is the one that started it all and it'll always be my favorite.

Ah ha! So you were the other vote for four. I missed that before. Good choice, not that I am partial or anything.

It also had some of the best quotable lines of the series. It's been a while, so I know I'm going to mess some of these up, but:

"It was a dumb conversation anyway."

"I am NOT a comittee!"

"What a wonderful smell you've discovered Princess"

"She's ri-ich"

"Use the force Luke"

I've used all of these (and some others) more than once.

Lawanda grins.

Is my order. Empire for all the reasons stated. I preferred Return over the original because of the more intense lightsaber usage and overall higher action.

That's why I prefer the second of the prequel trilogy. Liam and Ewan definitely made episode one GREAT for a jedi movie... but Jar Jar and the pod race irritated me. Number two was better for my high action needs and not nearly as senseless. As for the Anakin leer factor... well... it's because he's so ill-adjusted to dealing with his emotions that Palpatine gets a grip on him and he turns. So either Hayden is a really bad actor but it suits the character or he's a really good actor portraying a man who is so screwed up that he kills an entire order of Jedi for no real reason.

Artoo flying around was the only thing about episode 2 that really bugged me.

Well, mz list is 5-4-6-2-1
ep5 is the best, I love 'cause it's the only one where the Empire wins.
And ep2 is the better one of the prequels, because good alser fights .... But too much stupid stuff like Ani and Amidala rolling on the grass ... I hope Mr. Lucas quits this stuff in the next (and hopefully LAST!) prequel ...

Im glad that the majority of people picked the empire strikes back.

ITs obviously the best movie, even though it doesnt have a real ending.

The battle for the ice planet hoth is the best scene in all of the star wars movies for me. I believe in its time it was the most expensive scene shot for any movie, more so than apocolypse now.

I just love how there is a battle, people are shooting eachother and dying and exploding. There is a great struggle to the death against overwhelming forces and it seems like the rebels might even win.

However... Darth Vader just walks casually through the battle and ignores the people fighting all around him and begins walking straight towards princess leia. Has there ever been a villain that has ever been introduced and illustrated in a cinema movie better than that? Darth Vader seemed real to me in this movie, he transcended the whole story and setting. HE WAS BAD ASS ON A GALACTIC SCALE.

The darth whoever in the prequel movies just looked like someone from cirque de soleil. However my second favorite star wars movie is what ur calling episode 2. However its nowhere near. I guess I will rank them:

5-2-4-1-3 with 3 being an actually bad movie.

I think if this were a majority of people that they would choose what were calling episode 4 as the best one. It has a more complete story in it, so the average movie goer might have liked it more. episode 5 is definitely more a part of a story.

The only one I really didn't like was the first pre-quel. Jar Jar ruined that one totally. I still have one totally unforgettable movie memory. I was in the theatre seeing the very first Star Wars film when it first came out and when the Death Star exploded, an enormous cheer when through the cinema. That's the only time I've ever seen that happen.

I have foreseen it. Episode 3 will be my favorite episode. We finally get to see that brat Anakin fall down a lava pit or something.

Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.

Hmm... Anakin burning and screaming horribly in a pool of lava.... That might edge out 4. Might.
